In the sea’s swing
People who know the Krause couple recognize they are excellent hosts. Not happy by only hosting friends and family at their home, Luis Fernando and Lucia decided to open their sailboat, Schnaps, to all. Sea lovers, people who like beautiful seascapes and everyone else who is willing to go on an adventure around Rio de Janeiro, the marvelous city.
The couple consider their boat as their second home, where they relax and enjoy the best moments in life.
According to Luis Fernando, “our boat carries beautiful stories of love, accomplishment and companionship. We have two major emotions during our trips: the pleasure of being together with each other and the pleasure of being in the sea, which is never the same and always offers new and unique experiences”.
In the swing of life
Luis Fernando and Lucia met on 1988 at the International Airport of Rio de Janeiro. She was boarding for a cultural trip and he was going to study abroad with his engineering colleagues. During the trip, they started to date and the rest was history. They have two sons, Fernando and Guilherme.
Lucia not only is a chef, but she also found the “Familia Krause” cookie factory. For 12 years, the business provided the best cookies and treats to many restaurants and stores in the city. In our trips, Lucia is responsible for the onboard menu. Always innovative, healthy and delicious.
A skilled captain
At age 12, Luis Fernando started to sail with an optimist. Ever since then, he sailed with many other boats: Laser, 470, Snipe and Ocean.
He also did many in coast crossings to Angra dos Reis and Parati.
His certification allows him to do coast crossings between ports. For him, sailing courses are fundamental, but nothing in the sea is as important as practical experience.
Schnaps, his fifth sailboat, was acquired in a boat show in 2013. It is spacious, comfortable and still smells like new.
